Description

A pair of two light gilt and brown patina bronze scones in 1st Empire style. The base in shape of gain representing a winged woman standing on a globe and holding in its hands the lights in shape of torches. The scones are decorated with lion's heads, mascarons, griffons and laurel leaves.

Similar model is at the Rambouillet castle (beforehand at the Petit and Grand Trianons in Versailles, see the book Marie-France Dupuy-Baylet, L'Heure Le Feu La Lumière - Les Bronzes du Mobilier National 1800 - 1870, Edition Faton, 2010, p. 60.
