    Description

    A Louis XVI period pair of gilt bronze two light scones. The base in shape of a gain is decorated with the profile portraits of the king Louis XVI and of the queen Marie- Antoinette face-to-face. The portraits are supported by the royal coats of arms bearing the initials MA for Marie-Antoinette surrounded by two angels. The king Louis XVI bears the Grand Cordon of the Holy Spirit Order. The base is  terminated by vine leaves and grapes decoration. The top is decorated with a Louis XVI ribbon knot. The two light arms are decorated with acanthus leaves. Nice chiseling. The scones have its original mercury gilding.
