    Description

    A Louis XVI period mahagony bouillotte table opening with two drawers and two pull outs, one drawer with four compartments. Fluted tapering legs. White Carrare marble top decorated with a pierced gallery. Original bronze gilding on mercury. Very nice Louis XVI period Parisian work.

    Together with the bouillotte lamp, the bouillotte table is born thanks to the bouillotte game. The bouillotte game is a card game appeared in the 18th century, its rules are based on the "brelan", a card game based on the players bets appeared in the 17th century. The bouillotte game is considered as one of the games  that had influenced the variations of the poker.
