    Description

    A suite of four Transition Louis XV - Louis XVI period moulded lacquered gray beechwood cabriolet armchairs with a medallion seat back. Fluted tapered legs.

    Stamped "P. Bernard".

    France.

    18th century.

    From a cabinetmakers family, Pierre Bernard (about 1730 - 1788) was received "Maître" carpenter the 24 January 1766. He specialized in the manufacturing of the seats. His very elegant Transition and Louis XV seats were made with great care.
