    Description

    A 1st Empire period pair of chairs attributed to Jacob Desmalter (1770 - 1841), son of Georges Jacob, en bois mouluré, sculpté et laqué. The chairs are stamped by the  Inventory stamp of the Louis-Philippe period (three fleurs de lys in a oval) and by the Inventory stamps of the Mobilier National for Fontainebleau F16258/2S, F 3669.

    Jacob Desmalter supplied during the 1st Empire period the national palaces such as Saint-Cloud, Compiègne, Fontainebleau, Meudon, Rambouillet, Palais des Tuileries.
