    Description

    A Louis XVI period carved gilt and painted wood barometer - thermometer. Signed and dated "Dan Bucpier 1777". The barometer is decorated with fleurs de lys and a compass rose des vents in its center. The thermometer indicates the temperatures for : an ordinary bath, a silkworm, a room for a sick person, an orange tree, a green house, and the temperatures in Paris in 1753, 1740, 1768, 1709, 1776.
