Description

Decorated with carved caryatids in bronze with a brown patina, depicted as winged female figures standing in antique drapery, supporting at the ends of

a bouquet of five scroll-shaped light arms, made of gilded bronze covered with finely chiseled scales and topped with saucers adorned with

pearl friezes featuring guilloché-engraved grooves.

The base, made of gilded bronze, consists of a square, polished plinth on which rests a cylindrical, guilloché-engraved pedestal covered with scales arranged in a 

leaf pattern and topped by a polished globe.

France. First Empire period.

Good condition. Beautiful matte, burnished gilding.
